NetworkView 3.51

NetworkView is an ultra compact network discovery and management tool for Windows.

Three types of discovery : single address, range of addresses, full subnet. Checkboxes to use DNS, SNMP, WMI and/or TCP Ports. Customizable retries and timeouts. ICMP not required to discover behind firewalls. Maps can also be updated using either DNS name or IP address as the permanent identifier. Detailed discovery log.

NetworkView will get most of the MAC addresses on your LAN using the local ARP table, SNMP, NetBIOS and WMI. It will then retrieve the NIC manufacturer by comparing the OUI (Organizationally Unique Identifier) with the information in its database (more than 7?500 records).

Each network node is classified as one of the built-in type and icon:? Server, Workstation, Unix station, Router, Printer, ... There are currently 23 types available. A type can be associated with each entry in the OID and MAC Addresses Databases.

New in NetworkView 3.5 :

- New customizable Label Sets for the graphical view. Choose between 8 different fully editable sets. The labels are now independent of the current sorting.

- New Label Editor in the Preferences. The Tooltip can now contain any of the available field (instead of 4 available previously). The maximum length of the tooltip text can be set.

- New license system using a license key. Upgrades are free for registered users.

- Text export is now by default restricted to users values. Internal NetworkView system values are now exported only if the 'Include System Fields' check box is enabled.

- New WMI implementation. Complete rewrite of the WMI code, using the same internal object as the script interface in order to provide VB script compatible requests.

- New NetworkView.ini file to store preferences and the new portable license.
